Reddit Comments API provides independent historical retrieval and is not an official Reddit product or affiliated with Reddit. It offers no live feed, posting, voting or private messages. Coverage, continued record availability, immutable responses and complete conversations are not guaranteed. Returned records are flat; any local grouping depends on the fields and records available. Users must comply with applicable law and third-party rights when retrieving, analyzing or redistributing content, and distinguish observed source material from their own interpretations.
Accounts and key protection
Protect your account password and API key. The key is shown once at signup before payment; a signed-in user may regenerate it after confirming the password, immediately invalidating the previous key. Credentials and balances apply to redditcommentsapi.com only. Retrieval accepts X-API-Key or Authorization: Bearer authentication. Trial eligibility for 100 credits is conditional under network-wide anti-abuse controls. These controls do not create a shared balance or guarantee trial access to each new account.
Charges, payments and request limits
One successful retrieval, including an empty result, costs one credit: $1 per 1000 requests. Minimum paid top-up is $50 for 50000 credits; there are no subscriptions and paid credits do not expire. Invalid requests do not debit, upstream failures refund reservations and public status is uncharged. Use a signed-in invoice before transferring its exact amount by the displayed supported token and network, then submit the transaction hash for verification. Matching confirmed payment is required; settlement timing is not guaranteed. Retrieval limits do not imply exhaustive collection.
